The mares at Dun In Gray Quarter Horses have been carefully selected for their athleticism, conformation, bloodlines and performance along with their ability to pass along these traits to their offspring. Most of our mares have either proved themselves in the cutting pen before being retired to our broodmare program or have produced performers.

Hickory Chickory Doc is a finished cutting horse. She was the Alberta 5yr. And 6yr. old Non-Pro champion with winnings of $12,000. She has been a brood mare since 1980. All of her foals have been very athletic and has done well in the cutting pen.

AQHA 1991 Chestnut Mare

Hooked On Soxx is a combination of World Champion running and World Champion AQHA working horses. She is the horse we can pull out of the pasture once a year and put beginners on her. This mare passes along her size and disposition to all of her foals. They have excelled in the roping arena.

AQHA 1991 Sorrel Mare

Rare Poco Jewel is very athletic with a big sweep and excellent stop. She’s smooth to ride, a trait she passes on to all her foals. Due to a ranch relocation and a wire injury while in cutting training Rare Poco Jewel was taken out of her preparation for competing in Aged Events.

AQHA 1986 Bay Mare

Sandy San Lena is the all time leading broodmare sire and his best crosses were on Peppy San daughters, this mare is no exception. Due to an injury while in cutting training she is only performing as a saddle horse. She has produced a superior reiner and a NRHA money earner. We are very happy with the foals she is giving us.
